The Valley City State women's basketball team dropped its road game 92-63 to No. 9 Dakota Wesleyan University Tuesday night. Five Tigers scored in double figures en route to the big home win.

Dakota Wesleyan pulled away with a 22-9 advantage early in the game and didn't look back Tuesday night. The Tigers built up a 50-29 lead at halftime, and shot its best 62 percent in the fourth quarter to secure the big home victory.

Dakota Wesleyan shot 54 percent in the game (38-71), 50 percent on 3's (6-12) and 77 percent from the free throw line (10-13). The Tigers added 50 paint points and 20 points off turnovers Tuesday. DWU held a 40-19 rebounding advantage and scored 16 second chance points.

VCSU shot 38 percent from the field (24-63), 40 percent from 3-point range (6-15) and 82 percent from the line (9-11). VCSU totaled 12 steals and scored 15 points off turnovers Tuesday.

Ashlyn Diemert scored a team-high 13 points while
Abby Aslesen added 10 points and six rebounds for VCSU.
Tilda Mauritzson tallied 12 points and four rebounds off the Viking bench.

Dakota Wesleyan's Emma Yost led all scorers with 18 points while Rylee Rosenquist added 16 points and a team-high five assists. Shalayne Nagel totaled eight rebounds and Avery Broughton recorded four blocks for DWU.
