VCSU football returns home this weekend in a conference rematch against Mayville State University.
 
The two teams met back on Sept. 28 at Mayville for MSU's homecoming game. The Vikings came up short in their first meeting against the Comets losing 16-10. VCSU enters this game with a record of 2-5. They are 1-4 in conference games. MSU is 4-4 and 3-3 in the conference.
 
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday at Lokken Stadium. Tailgate setup will begin at 10 a.m. and tailgating will begin at 11 a.m. Radio coverage will be on KOVC 1490 AM. Last Meeting: The Comets got on the board first with a touchdown in the late in first quarter. The Vikings quickly evened up the score with an Avery Thorsgard touchdown to start the second quarter. Later, Mayville drove and kicked a field goal to close out the half, taking a 10-7 lead into halftime. The Comets found the endzone early in the third but missed the extra point, making the score 16-7. In the fourth the Vikings kicked a field goal but were unable to put together a scoring drive at the end of the game leaving the final score 16-10.
 
Series History: VCSU has played against MSU since 1986. During that time they lead the series 38-7. In their last ten meetings the Vikings lead the series 8-2 dating back to 2016.
