Vikings score 113 in win over Oak Hills

The Valley City State men's basketball team rolled to its sixth win of the season Wednesday night, breaking the century mark in a 113-50 win over Oak Hills Christian College.
 
All 12 Vikings who played on Wedneday night scored in the victory as Valley City State improved its record to 6-3 overall.
 
The Vikings made 8 of their first 10 3-point attempts in the first half and led 66-19 at the break. They finished the game with 16 made 3's, tying a school record for 3-pointers in a game.
 
Eight different players reached double figures, led by 14 points from Cayden Rickard and 13 by Nick Carlson off the bench. Hunter Lyman had a double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds. Other players scoring double figures included LaDarious Stanfield (12 points), Jerome Washington (11), Donovan Tynes (11), Cleveland Bedgood (11) and Caden Grinde (10).
 
Rickard made four of VCSU's 16 3-pointers, while Bedgood and Washington each made three triples.
 
Valley City State shot 55 percent overall (45-82), 52 percent on 3's (16-31) and went 7-for-17 on free throws. Oak Hills finished the game at 25 percent overall (18-72), 25 percent on 3's (10-40) and 57 percent at the line (4-7).
 
The Vikings forced 17 turnovers and had 13 steals, including four by Stanfield.
 
Josiah Molton led Oak Hills with four 3-pointers and a team-high 14 points.
 
Up next: Valley City State travels to Dickinson State for a pair of games this weekend at the Sam Milanovic Thanksgiving Classic. The Vikings play Rocky Mountain College on Friday at 4 p.m. CT and then play Oak Hills again on Saturday at 4 p.m.
