Viking Men roll to 100-62 win

VALLEY CITY – Eleven different Vikings scored and six reached double figures Tuesday night as the VCSU men's basketball team hit 100 points in a victory over Trinity Bible College.
 
VCSU scored an even 50 points in each half en route to a 100-62 win against the Lions.
 
The Vikings improve their record to 4-3 overall this season. VCSU is back in action Thursday with an exhibition game at the University of North Dakota.
 
VCSU shot 50 percent on Tuesday, going 41-for-82 from the floor. The Vikings were just 22 percent on 3's (8-37) and 53 percent on free throws but helped fuel the offense with 19 offensive rebounds and 15 steals.
 
Eight different players had steals, led by three from Odier Olange, who also added 12 points and three assists. Caden Grinde filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, six rebounds and a team-high six assists. Hunter Lyman had a team-high 13 rebounds and seven assists.
 
Lamar Grayson led the balanced scoring attack with a team-high 14 points on 7-for-10 shooting. LaDarious Stanfield totaled 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting, and Cayden Rickard added 10 points. Cleveland Bedgood finished with 13 points and three assists.
 
The Vikings held Trinity Bible College to 37 percent shooting overall (23-63) and 26 percent from 3-point range (10-38). The Vikings forced 25 turnovers by the Lions. Valley City State held a 61-22 advantage in points in the paint, and a 35-14 advantage in points off turnovers.
