ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Valley City State volleyball team fell to Presentation College Saturday afternoon in five close sets, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 19-25 and 15-13.

Three Vikings tallied double figure kills Saturday and five totaled double figure digs in the loss. VCSU drops to 8-11 overall and 3-4 in the North Star. Presentation improves to 6-17 on the season and 3-4 in conference play.

Despite tallying a season-best 13 total blocks Saturday, VCSU couldn't finish in the win column. Presentation edged the Vikings in kills 61-56, and aces 7-6.

Bailey Nelson led the Vikings with 16 kills while Morgan Nelson chipped in 13 and Emma Lucas totaled 12. Morgan Nelson also added seven blocks (1 solo, 6 assisted) and Lucas finished with four blocks (4 assisted).

JayCee Richter posted a team-high 26 digs and three aces for the Vikings while Sadie Hansen finished with 19 digs and Danielle Hagler tallied 16. Ellie Rush added a career-best 11 digs and Lexi Leroux rounded out double figure digs with 10.

Hansen finished Saturday's match with a game-high 49 set assists.

Presentation's Grace Tobin paced the Saints with 25 kills and 21 digs in the match. Sydney Miller totaled 31 set assists and 10 digs while Olivia Corey added 21 assists and 11 digs. Laura Babcock finished with a team-best 29 digs for Presentation.
