VALLEY CITY -?? Valley City State volleyball dropped two more Friday after facing No. 21 University of Providence and Montana State University-Northern.

Nationally ranked University of Providence took a straight-three to sweep the Vikings 25-13, 25-16, and 25-21. By the second match on Friday, the Vikings battled back to take one from Montana State University-Northern but ultimately fell 3-1.

Valley City State falls to 0-3 while University of Providence and Montana State University-Northern each improve to 2-0.

UP NEXT: Valley City State concludes the Big Sky Challenge tournament Saturday taking on Montana Tech at 12 p.m.

Makayla Wetzel led the Viking offense with a team-high six kills while Charlotte Huschka led the defense with 11 digs. Katie Juarez contributed five kills and 10 digs for Valley City State.

Charlotte Huschka led the Viking defense again with 42 digs Friday night. Senior Ellie Winter recorded a team-high eight kills while Katie Juarez added seven kills and three blocks for Valley City State. Reagan Ingstad put up 17 assists and Alexa Walby tallied 15.
