Box Score The nationally ranked University of Jamestown never trailed as they took three straight sets from Valley City State Wednesday night 25-14, 26-24, and 25-18.
The Jimmies hit .293 with 16 kills as they handily took set one 25-14.
Set two featured three ties as the Vikings gained energy throughout the set. The Jimmies led by as much as nine points at 20-11 when the Vikings gained enough momentum to catch up to tie at 23. The two teams traded kills to bring the tie to 24. Valley City State's efforts were not quite enough as a pair of Jamestown kills sealed the second set 26-24.
The Jimmies only committed four errors to the Vikings' seven as they secured the third set victory 25-18.
Valley City State was led by senior libero Charlotte Huschka as she recorded 27 digs. Kallene Klever added 12 digs and the only service ace for the Vikings.
On the offensive side, Bailey Nelson recorded a team-high six kills. Ellie Stafford and Caitlyn Fischbach each added five. Alexa Walby tallied 11 assists and Reagan Ingstad added nine.
For the Jimmies, Anna Holen recorded 17 digs while Sydney Ellingson added 13. Isabel Wedell tallied a team-high 10 kills and Taylor Sabinash added eight.
Jackie Meiklejohn and Miranda Lowman each contributed 14 assists for the Jimmies.
