The Valley City State volleyball team kicked off its home stand with a sweep of Presentation College on Friday night at Graichen Gymnasium.
On VCSU Parent's Night, the Vikings made quick work of the Saints by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-21 to start off the Homecoming weekend.
Valley City State improves to 10-12 overall and 2-2 in conference play. It was the first of three straight home matches for VCSU, which will host Dakota State on Saturday at 5 p.m. The Vikings also host University of Jamestown on Oct. 10.
Alley Theroux led the Viking attack Friday with 11 kills. Courtney Carlson and Barb Ector both scored five kills. Megan Good and Steph Miller each had 11 assists. Kaitlyn Heuring and Emily Plowman both served up three aces. Jaycee George had nine digs and Courtney Carlson added seven.
The Vikings hit .198 as a team.
Presentation College drops to 6-12 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
