The Valley City State volleyball team is back to .500 after sweeping a pair of matches Friday at the Waldorf College Tournament in Forest City, Iowa.

The Vikings are now 13-13 overall. They go for win number 14 Saturday morning against Waldorf College.

VCSU opened the tournament with a 3-game sweep of Stephens College, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.

In the second match of the day against Mount Mercy, the Vikings were pushed to the limit as they had to rally from a 2-1 deficit for a 5-game victory, 25-22, 23-25, 15-25, 25-23, 15-11.

VCSU was on the ropes after trailing 19-9 in game four, but the Vikings completed the game on a remarkable 16-4 run for a 25-23 victory. VCSU then went on to win game five 15-11 to clinch the match.
