The Valley City State volleyball team took one game from the No. 20-ranked Jamestown Jimmies, but Jamestown prevailed in the end with a four-game victory at VCSU's Graichen Gymnasium, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16, 25-16.
Four different Jimmies had eight or more kills as the nationally-ranked Jimmies won their sixth straight conference match. Jamestown improves to 14-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
Valley City State drops to 11-13 overall and 3-3 in the North Star Athletic Association. The Vikings were led offensively by 11 kills from Alley Theroux and eight kills each by Jodi Wilde and Barbara Ector.
Up next: Valley City State plays at Bismarck State College on Tuesday, Oct. 14, in a scrimmage. VCSU will then head to Forest City, Iowa, for three matches at the Waldorf College tournament Oct. 17-18.
