Charlie Brown Memorial Baseball Field is the home for the Viking baseball team. Nestled into the side of a hill, the field is well-known throughout the state of North Dakota as a great place to watch a game.
The field is owned by Valley City Parks and Recreation, but VCSU has access to it through a shared-use agreement. Charlie Brown Field is located in northeast Valley City. VCSU has games and practices on the field in both the fall and spring.
Since 2011, the field has undergone several improvement projects. Most recently, a clubhouse facility was built down the left-field line and new batting cages were installed beyond the left-field fence. Both projects were paid for by the Valley City Baseball Association. The new clubhouse includes two locker rooms, a handicap accessible bathroom, a coaches room and cold storage. The field also had a new scoreboard installed prior to the 2017 season, and new foul-line fencing in 2021.Â
It is also home to the Valley City Post 60 Legion baseball team, the Valley City High School team, and several youth and amateur baseball programs.
